The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Food Industry Capacity & Skill Initiative (FICSI) are creating a skilling ecosystem for master trainers of millet processing in Jharkhand. FICSI is the Sector Skill Council for Food Processing under the Government’s flagship Skill India initiative. The training will be provided free of cost. Upon completion, candidates will not be eligible for an employment by FICSI but will be empanelled to offer services on contractual basis.

Role and responsibilities

As a master trainer, you will be pivotal in shaping the training strategy and fostering excellence in millet-based food product manufacturing training. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and improve training materials.
  • Create a strategic vision, identify areas for improvement, and execute long-term training plans.
  • Ensure training and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Identify training needs and conduct assessments.
  • Deliver high-level training sessions and set an example for other trainers.
  • Train-the-trainer programmes to equip other trainers with the necessary skills.
  • Assess trainer effectiveness and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Eligibility criteria

To be considered as a master trainer, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Long term resident of Jharkhand/Odisha/Bihar/Chhattisgarh.
  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Food processing/Agriculture/Hospitality/Biotechnology or allied subjects.
  • Preference is given to women, and those with a background in Home Science are also encouraged to apply.
  • 5 Years of experience for Master Trainer in the food processing or allied fields.
  • Teaching experience preferred, willingness to take up skilling projects in Jharkhand.

Assessment & certification

Post training the candidates will undergo an assessment and will be empanelled by FICSI on the Skill India portal making them eligible to offer services in Jharkhand and other states.

Selection process

Based on interviews candidates will be finalised by a panel of experts drawn from the Jharkhand State Skill Mission, Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society and Directorate of Agriculture along with UNDP and FICSI.

Requirements for Master Trainer under the Millet Processing Training Program

The document outlines the minimum requirements for individuals aspiring to become Master Trainers and Trainers through the Training of Master Trainer (ToMT) and Training of Trainer (ToT) Programs, respectively, as part of our commitment to Skill India.

Master Trainer & Trainer Requirements:

  • A Master Trainer and trainer are expected to conduct a minimum of 10 and 20 man-days of training (including Saturday & Sunday) in a year, respectively, to maintain the validity of the Skill India certificate.
  • Master Trainers will be compensated to receive Rs 3000 per day, while trainers will receive Rs 2000 per day for their training sessions.
  • Candidates with more than 3 years of experience after graduation are eligible for Skill India Master Trainer certification, while those with less than 3 years of experience qualify for Skill India Trainer certification.
  • Individuals currently employed by an organisation must furnish a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer before program enrollment. This step ensures the resolution of potential conflicts of interest, with all parties being informed and supportive of the candidate's involvement.
  • Following the completion of the training, FICSI will conduct an online assessment. Certification will be granted upon successful completion of the assessment.
  • Trainers and Master trainers are eligible to conduct batches across India under FICSI-affiliated training programs on a freelance basis. Compensation details can be found in point iii.

Guidelines for The Training

  • The duration of training is 6 Days, the residential training program is set to take place over 3 days at NIT Rourkela, the Batch is commencing from 27th Dec to 29th Dec 2023 9:00am to 5:30 pm.
  • The training spans 3 days on-site at the institute NIT Rourkela and an additional three days online, allowing flexibility for participants to join from any location.
  • FICSI offers complimentary training and accommodation. Participants will receive double occupancy lodging at the NIT Rourkela Campus guest house from 26th December 2023 (Evening) to 29th December 2023 (Morning). Meals are available at the Guest House canteen for a nominal charge.
  • All candidates will receive a travel allowance, covering either bus fare or train expenses, with a maximum reimbursement cap of Rs 1000. This is contingent upon the submission of ticket copies as proof. The candidate is responsible for booking their own tickets.
  • Candidates must make a security payment to secure enrollment and confirm commitment to attending the scheduled training. As part of this process, a security deposit of Rs 1000 must be paid to the Food Industry Capacity and Skill Initiative (FICSI). It will be refunded on the completion of training.
