DDU-GKY and RSETI in Food Processing Sector

Awareness session on “Opportunities for DDU-GKY and RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training Institutes) in the Food Processing Sector” was jointly organized by NIRDPR and Food Processing Sector Skill Council (FICSI), under the auspices of Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India on 3rd June,2021.

Smt Alka Upadhyaya IAS, Addl Secretary, MoRD, Shri Charanjit Singh, Joint Secretary (Skills and Livelihood ), Shri. K V Satyanarayana, Executive Director, (DDU-GKY, NIRDPR) and Sri Sunil K Marwah, CEO, FICSI graced the webinar.

E-meeting with MoRD, NIRDPR and FICSI, representatives from SRLMs (State Rural Livelihood Missions) and RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training Institutes)  shared their views on opportunities for skilling in Food Processing sector. Also shared the scope of collaboration with FICSI:

  • Working together to skill/upskill the youth in rural areas.
  • Sensitizing them on Food Safety & Hygiene through FoSTaC training, certification of FSSAI.
  • Creation of entrepreneurial opportunities for women to support the concept of “Vocal for Local” etc.
