Training Program for SHGs of Rural Women Supported by Britannia Nutrition Foundation under CSR
|
Experts from FICSI conducted a three-day training
program for self-help group of rural women at Barai, Gwalior supported by Britannia
Nutrition Foundation. Total 19 women participants joined the training program
to get the taste of food safety and entrepreneurship in food processing.

|
The first day of training started with roles and responsibilities of industrial production worker, conduct and behaviour at workplace, good manufacturing practices. The second day comprised SWOT analysis to develop analytical and critical thinking, decision making and team building, basics of entrepreneurship, hazards in food and their identification. FOSTAC Basic Manufacturing training, which is made mandatory by FSSAI for food handlers in processing industry was conducted on the third day. Overall, it was an interactive session. The zeal to learn could be seen in the eyes of all the women. This was a small step towards women empowerment.

Launch of FICSI's Food Vaarta Podcast
|
|
A new feather was added to the cap – FICSI started off with it’s Podcast Edition
titled - FICSI Food Vaarta released on 15th July 2022. Listening is fun and utilizes the time in best
manner. FICSI embarked the new proceeding to reach out to the wide audience of
food industry – the supervisors, operators, maintenance personnel and shop
floor food handlers. The programme was designed in a manner to throw some light
on food safety topics in bilingual language. Since people of India enjoy hindi,
the mode was kept more liberal choosing “Hinglish” as the language of
communication.

|
FICSI has trained Akshaya Patra Foundation’s food handlers for FoSTaC Advance Catering & COVID-19, as a part of FICSI’s ongoing mission to upskill food processing sector. Akshaya Patra is the largest partner of the Union Government of India to implement the Mid Day Meal scheme in the government run schools of India.

FICSI conducted an onsite training for Allergen
Management at Patanjali Auditorium on 3rd of Aug’2022. Onsite trainings leave a valuable experience both for the trainer
and the learner. It was
surely an interactive session at Patanjali, Haridwar. A team of 42 participants
from various departments were present in the training program.

Job Portal on 15th August 2022, as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit
Mahotsav (https://jobs.ficsi.in/ ), It is
one stop solution for factory worker to Mid-Level Manager recruitments.
Candidates from all Food Tech & Food Processing Institutes across the
country have already registered. The profiles are of varied education levels
like, Mtech, Btech, M.Sc, B.Sc, M.Voc, B.Voc, ITI and FICSI’s Short-Term
Certification Courses.

FICSI has been Recognized as an Awarding Body by NCVET
|
|
|
Food Industry Capacity and Skill
Initiative (FICSI) has been recognized as an Awarding Body by National Council
for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) on 08th June 2022.
FICSI is the only such recognized
body for the Food Processing Sector. Also, as per NCVET directives and Awarding
Bodies responsibilities, it is now the first and foremost responsibility of the
Awarding Body to ensure good Quality Training along with keeping to timelines
and proper placement or gainful employment targets.
In this regard, since FICSI as
an SSC has the honor of being the owner of Qualification Packs/Job Roles that
have been developed by it’s in-house team.

Adarsh
Gram Skill Camp Project
|
|
FICSI is working on providing skilling to women, young aspirant
entrepreneurs in 25 villages across 5 states of India in food processing
sector. FICSI has identified these 25 villages based on population,
availability of skilling infrastructure and ease of access to implement the
project. FICSI has also recommended the list of sub sector and qualification
packs in which these skilling programs need to be implemented.
FICSI has completed
orientation and assessment at 20 villages at Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam and
Rajasthan where certified 2,300 candidates certified.

Distribution-
Candidates received reward money of 500 rupees, Skill Card, Skill Certificate
along with 2 years accidental insurance certificate and Marks Sheet.

|
FICSI and PATH signed an MoU on 17th June,2022 for setting up skilling centres for rice fortification which will be geared up towards capacity building of essential human resources for the successful scale up of rice fortification in India. This collaboration will focus on bringing together a pool of highly informed, experienced, and skilled partners to utilise, sustain, and integrate rice fortification technology in India.

The hub will play a
significant role in establishing itself as an appropriate support unit for the
expansion of large-scale food fortification in India, in line with our Hon'ble
Prime Minister's agenda.

FICSI signed an
MoU with Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) on 9th March, 2022 for
planning the skill development training programs and Assessments &
Certification under Food Processing sector in Tamil Nadu.
The
MoU signing event was successfully conducted at Secretariate in Chennai with
presence of Hon'ble Minister for Labour Welfare &Skill Development TN,
Thiru.C.V.Ganesan and MD, TNSDC - Smt. Innocent Divya, IAS.

FICSI
has singed an MoU with IEC University, where FICSI will provide course content
to run B.Voc in Food Processing. FICSI will also assess and certify the
students in skill component. IEC University is recognized by UGC- part of a big
educational conglomerate spread at different locations in India contributing to
the educational cause under the aegis of ‘Vocational Educational Foundation’
since 1999.The University is recognized & approved from various Statutory
Bodies like Bar Council of India, Pharmacy Council of India, and Indian
Association of Physiotherapists.

FICSI, the Sector Skill Council for Food Processing Industry has collaborated with The University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU) to provide QPs, Assessment & Certification to their B.Voc in Food Processing students. FICSI boasts of collaboration with 270+ Colleges & Universities in India for courses in Food Processing.

FICSI
and Padmashree Institute of Management & Sciences, affiliated with
Bangaluru University has signed MoU for content development, assessment &
certification the students enrolled in B.Voc in Food processing. The Institute is focused on
research and development of life sciences in general and Nutraceuticals, Food
Processing and Biotechnology in particular and rank amongst the well known collages
in southern India.

FICSI had an
understanding to provide Skill Development Training Centres to Samhita at
selected Locations for unemployed youth in a paid model
with at least 70% employment linkages where funding was done by Vedanta Foundation. Deliverable for FICSI Training Providers: Centre Setup, Trade Identification, Training, Placement.
Training Partners
were selected to impart the Trainings at below mentioned Locations with 600
Target at each centre at New Delhi, Lucknow, Indore.

National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS)
|
|
Around 12,500
apprentices are working in 650+ food processing companies under the National
Apprentice Promotion Scheme (NAPS). Under this scheme, the government shares
25% of the prescribed stipend, subject to a maximum of IN 1,500 per month per
apprentice. The organisations train these apprentices during on job training
and later may pick them up as employees.

|
|
FICSI got approval on its newly approved qualification files
in the 17th and 21st NSQC meeting. 2 new qualifications
have been approved that shall be valid till next 3 years.

Workshop on Food Processing with Uttarakhand Skill
Development Mission
|
|
One Day workshop for Self Help Groups (SHGs), Industries and State Govt
Stakeholders on Food Processing has been organized on 27th July,2022 by FICSI
and Uttarakhand Skill Development Mission (UKSDM) in collaboration with UNDP at
Dehradun to sensitize SHGs and other stakeholders on existing and new
initiatives to reskill/upskill resources under Food Processing sector in the
state of Uttarakhand.

40 SHGs members and 20 state Govt officials attended the event along with
Hon’ble Secretary of Department of Skills & Employment, Govt of
Uttarakhand.
